The 2012 Toy Train Expo Gift
You know it’s getting close to Christmas when the annual Toy Train Expo chugs into town. Recently, the 22nd edition of the Expo, renamed for it’s late founder, Will Huffman, filled Park Place with the sights, sounds, and smells from dozens of toy trains on a variety of unique layouts. A “trainload of thanks” goes to the many dedicated exhibitors, volunteers, donors, and sponsors who make this family event possible.
First off, a very special thank you to everyone at Park Place for hosting the Expo, especially Pat Russell, Fran Visco, Tony Visco, and Rick Miller.
Our exhibitors and volunteers deserve a round of applause: Max Ameigh, Mark & Doris Anderman, Dan, Lucy & John Bower, Pat & Laura Breen, John Clees Jr., Rob & Brandon Conboy, Leslie Cooprider, Nancy Day, Eiderson Dean, Paul Derr, Dick Dill, Ken DiRocco, Tony Ferraro, Nick Fischer, Larry Fisher, Brett Hinkal, Ronald & Barbara Hinkal, Linda Huffman, Jim Ingram, Paul Karichner, Larry Keller, Ralph & Peggy Keller, Kelsey Kriner, Bill, Bill Jr., & John Lantz, Noah Keith McKenzie, Rhonda McKenzie, Rob Mueller, Deb Myers, John Nevill Jr., Frank Ulman, Ed Watson, Claude Williams, and Lloyd Wurster.
We appreciate our corporate donors and advertising sponsors: Airmen, Burger King, English’s Model Railroad Supply, Fairfield Auto Group, Impact Advertising, Penn College, Outlaws, Paulhamus Litho, Robert M. Sides, The Eye Center, Williamsport Sun-Gazette, and Williamsport’s Victorian Christmas.
We’re grateful for the newspaper coverage by Laura Janssen and Craig McKibben of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
We thank the hundreds of visitors to the Expo and were glad to provide them with a chance to “relive a less complicated world of wonder and nostalgia.”
It has been a privilege to continue The Will Huffman Toy Train Expo in honor of our father’s vision for the event: “A gift for the community for children of all ages.” We look forward to seeing you again next year!
